Ian Royer is a French American dual citizen who spent his life going back and forth between the two countries. After finishing high school in Montpellier, France, Mr. Royer attended school at Montgomery Community College in Maryland and then transferred to the University of Oregon where he obtained a BS in Political Science. Mr. Royer completed his first year of law school at Vermont Law School and then transferred to Lewis and Clark Law School where he graduated two years later.
Mr. Royer passed the Oregon State Bar in 2015 and began working as a volunteer attorney at Multnomah County Courthouse. He was soon hired to represent social security claimants who had been denied benefits. Mr. Royer worked in appeals where he practiced before the Social Security Appeals Council, various District Courts, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
In the Fall of 2017, Mr. Royer shifted careers to work in immigration law. Since then, Mr. Royer has represented numerous immigrants in a large variety of cases including removal proceedings in Immigration Court, appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals & the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and also adjustment of status, naturalization, and other family and humanitarian-based cases before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).
Mr. Royer’s father is a Legal Permanent Resident from France. Mr. Royer personally experienced a close family member going through the immigration process. Mr. Royer speaks English, French and Spanish.
